Baleen Beacon
A call to care for our oceans - illuminated whale song & performance
Baleen Beacon features a multi-sensory and multi-stage performance. With an audio-reactive lit costume, a large scale drawing of a whale, and a rafter-rattling Aria, the piece explores the consequences of plastic consumption as well as the hope for marine conservation. The costume glows with embedded light patterns that brighten in response to a the performers vocalizations. Meanwhile, the lantern she carries emanates whale songs pulsing with light.
